Dear Parents,
I was born in Sarasota, FL and I am a graduate of Julie Rohr Academy. I began my dance training with the Bradenton School of Ballet at two years old. I have continued studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acrobactics, Modern and Musical Theatre throughout my whole life.
In 2003 I completed my Bachelors of Science in Speech and Theatre with minors in both Dance and English. I have performed at Disneyworld, Dollywood and the Palm Beach Princess Cruise Lines. I started my dance teaching career at Julie Rohr Academy in 2004. After moving to New York in the summer of 2006, I have since returned to continue my true passion of teaching dance. Currently, I am Jr. Artistic director of Revelle Dance Academy.
One of my proudest teaching/choreographing moments was when I choreographed Julie Rohr Academy's 2005 production of "42nd Street".
Some of my favorite acting roles include Maria in "The Sound of Music" (2006), Sandy in "Grease" (2005), Tzeitel in "Fiddler on the Roof" and Ariel in "Footloose" (2003). I am also a proud member of Actor's Equity Association.
In this upcoming school year I will be teaching creative movement dance classes for three- and four-year olds. Each class will have 20 minutes of ballet, 20 minutes of creative moment and end with 20 minutes of tap. I will also offer some musical theatre, acrobatics, hula dance, jazz dance and many more ideas in my classes per the student's interests.
I look forward to meeting all my new dancers and new parents.
Erica Rodriguez
